Congratulations to Brandt Garon & Schuyler Cotten on winning the 2024 BREC Mardi Gras Tournament at Webb Golf Course.   This tournament is a two day 36-hole competition with the 2-player teams playing a Scramble format for 18-holes on Saturday and 9-holes of Better-Ball followed by 9-holes of Alternate Shot on Sunday.  Brandt and Schuyler won by shooting an 11-under par 61 on Sunday in the harder formats of the two days.  Their Sunday 61 was 5 strokes lower than the next best score on Sunday.  With this low Sunday score, they won the First Flight and passed all the teams in the Championship Flight to win the entire tournament.  Brandt and Schuyler had a two-day total of sixteen under par 67-61-128.

Winning the Championship Flight and finishing one shot back in the tournament were Randall Little & Wendell Akins who shot 61-68-129 for an impressive 15-under par total.  Randy Goff & Bobby Richmond came in third at 61-69-130.  Tied in overall Fourth place were the teams of Ken Miller & Steve Thompson 64-67-131 and Ken Collins & Greg Berthelot 65-66-131.

Mmpho Mmopi & Javon Sanford won the Second flight with a 6-under par 69-69-138.  Hunter Floyd & Drake David won the Third Flight with 74-80-154.

All players played through cloudy and windy conditions on Saturday when the temperature was in the mid-40’s with a wind chill in the mid-30’s.  Thanks to everyone who played and competed through the difficult weather conditions.
