USGA and Royal Ancient are considering new rule changes.
You can visit http://www.usga.org/rules-hub/rules-modernization/text/overview-of-the-rules-modernization-initiative.html and see the “new rules” begin tossed about by the USGA and RA. We encourage golfers to get involved in the dialog with the USGA.

Player of the Year for 2017… will Scott Haynie continue his dominance …or will something else become the headline?

Latest Player of the Year Points. Click>http://golf.brec.org/player-of-the-year/
The 2017 Tournament Schedule is posted on this site. Along with it, will be the point system. Scott Haynie ran up a most impressive accumulation of points (4,840), basically 1500 points from his second place rival. Even more amazing was that he won about a half dozen events. This is a new year, it will be interesting to see if Haynie can continue his outstanding play or if a series of players can begin to challenge him.
The Player of the Year Championship is scheduled for October 28th & 29th at Beaver Creek.
Here is how the points will be distributed per given event. In events where players tie for a given position, they will add the position points and average out the points (ex: two players tie for 3rd in an 36 hole event; their points for that event will be 335.) It should be noted that the Player of the Year Points have been established to push this program toward rewarding the outstanding competitive players for the given year. Points will be rare, with the emphasis for such players to play often and finish high in an event. Such programming will then put the emphasis on the season ending Championship itself as being an exciting event where the area’s best players enter the back 9 at Beaver Creek locked in a shoot-out to rival all championships.
