Ice Breaker Feb. 2025 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Craig Rose & Brandt Garon on winning the Icebreaker Tournament today at City Park GC. This tournament is nine holes of Scramble format followed by nine holes of Better-Ball format. Craig & Brandt shot six under par 26 in the scramble and five under par 27 in the better-ball for a total of eleven under par 53 and a four stroke victory.

John Henchy & Randy Goff finished in second place at seven under par 57. They finished one stroke ahead of five teams that tied for third place at six under par 58.

Teddy Ledet & David Knight won the First Flight at four under par 60, one stroke ahead of Danny Simoneaux & Randall Little who finished at three under par 61.

Holiday Scramble Dec. 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to the team of Jeremy Gautreaux, Ken Collins, & Phil Frazier on winning the BREC Holiday Scramble today at J.S. Clark golf course. They shot a 13-under par 59 and won the tiebreakers in a four-way scorecard playoff with the teams of Robbie White, Grant Welch, & Eric Hoffman; Terry Ledet, David Millet, & Joey Indest; and Connor Lynch, Wes Watts, & Richard Hagan. All four teams tied at 59 and it took four tiebreakers before the winner was decided by an eagle on hole 18.

In the First Flight Daniel Chambless, Brian Barger, & Chris Kieren shot 7-under par 65 and won a tiebreaker with the team of Daniel Richard, Bryan Fontenot, & Hunter Spedale.

All teams battled cool temperatures and light rain to post some remarkable scores for the tough weather conditions.

Harry Neese Tournament Oct. 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to the team of Phil Schmitt & Scott Sterling on winning the 2024 Harry Neese Tournament today at City Park golf course. This unique two-player tournament is competed over 27-holes playing nine holes of Scramble, nine holes of Better-Ball, and nine holes of alternate shot. After 27 holes Phil & Scott were tied at 10-under par with Landon Covington & Dennis Brown. The tie was played off with Schmitt & Sterling winning on the 2nd playoff hole.

Jeremy Gautreaux and John Henchy came in third at 8-under par 88. The teams of Brek Balentine & Scott Wilfong, Robbie White & Dante Caldera, and Craig Rose & Brandt Garon all tied for fourth place at 7-under par 89. Blake Watts & Ken Collins won the Frist Flight finishing at 2-under par 94.

Baton Rouge Senior Open 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Chad Braud on winning the 2024 Senior Baton Rouge Open today at Santa Maria. Chad now has a Senior Open victory to add to his 2011 Baton Rouge Open win. Chad followed his Saturday 70 with a Sunday 4-under par 68 to win at 6-under par 138. Danny Nelson shot a Sunday 4-under par 68 to finish second at 2-under par 142. Jory Comeaux also shot 4-under par 68 on Sunday to finish in a three-way tie for third place with Wess Watts and Wendell Akins at even par 144.

In the Super Senior Division Randy Goff shot his second straight 6-under par 66 to win with a twelve under par 132 total. Paul Castro, the 2023 Super Senior Division champion, posted a Sunday 5-under par 67 to finish second at 7-under par 137. Steve Thompson finished in third at 6-under par 138. Lindsey Spiller came in fourth at 3-under par 141.

Plainsman Four-Ball 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Jeremy Gautreaux and Cody Maxwell on winning the 2024 Plainsman Tournament at Beaver Creek golf course.Jeremy and Cody managed to shoot 64–65–129 to finish 15 strokes under par in this 36-hole two player better-ball event.   2023 champions Wendell Akins & BJ Taillon held the first-round lead and finished second at 62-68-130.  Jason Humphries & Dustin Lambert cam in third with 67-64-131.  John Henchy & Randy Goff got 4th place at 67-67-134.Josh Tucker & Drew Prieto won the tiebreaker with the lower final round to win the First Flight with 70-65-135 over the team of Mark Bienvenue & Jesse Landry’s 69-66-135.  David Duhon & Cade Hebert won the Second Flight with 73-66-139, Andre & Jack Prejean came in second with 73-70-143.

4-Ball Challenge 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to John Henchy & Chad Braud on winning the BREC 4-Ball Challenge tournament today at Beaver Creek GC in Zachary.  John and Chad won in a scorecard playoff over Brandt Garon & Schuyler Cotten after both teams posted a 6 under par 66 scores.  Both teams had 32 strokes on the front nine and 34 on the back nine.  John and Chad won the tiebreaker with the lower score on the last six holes.The tournament was very competitive with fourteen teams scoring between 66 and 69.  Many tiebreakers came into play in the Championship and First flights.  Gayle Sanchez & Jim Adams came in third place, one shot back at 67 along with the team of Jon Gussfeld & Clay Pinson who finished fourth.  The four-way tie at 4-under par 68 included the teams of Clayton Brown & Seth Holley, Kyle & Blake Gautreaux, Robbie White & Craig Rose, and Wes Watts & Rick Hagan.Josh Tucker & Drew Prieto won the First Flight and Andrew Schneider & Adam Fontenot won the Second Flight.

J.S. Clark Championship 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Robbie White on winning the 2024 J.S. Clark Course Championship.  Robbie made a birdie putt from a little under 20 feet on the 18th hole to post a final round 72 for an even par 144 two-day total.  Wendell Akins also birdied the 18th hole on a short putt to finish one shot back at 145.  Dennis Brown shot a one over par 73 on Sunday to take third place with a 147 total.Peter Mata won the First Flight at 160, three shots ahead of Chris Kieren at 163.

Webb Championship 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Wendell Akins on Winning the 2024 Webb Course Championship.  Wendell followed an even par 72 on Saturday with a three under par 69 on Sunday to finish at three under par 141.  This got Wendell in a playoff with Jeremy Gautreaux who shot 69 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday.   Wendell made a birdie on the first playoff hole to take home the 2024 course championship.
Chris Kieren shot two under par 70 on Sunday to finish in a tie for third place with Mac McGurn at one under par 143.  First round leader Elliot Aucoin finished in fifth place at even par 144.  
Stephen Maciasz shot a Sunday 73 to win the First Flight with a 151 total.  Cameron Bruce and Mike Scurria finished one shot behind him at 152.  In the Second Flight Caleb Wilson won the tie-breaker with Peter Mata at 167.

City Park Championship 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Jeremy Gautreaux on winning the 2024 City Park Course Championship.  Jeremy was the only player to finish under par after followed yesterday’s 4-under par 60 with a one over par 65 for a two-shot victory at three under par 125.   2023 City Park Champion Wendell Akins finished in second place at even par 128.  David Knight finished third at 130 and Scott Wilfong came in fourth at 133.
Frank Scroeder won the first flight by five strokes with the only even par round of the day.  Clint Skinner and Peter Mata tied for 2nd in the Frist Flight with 143 totals.

Mardi Gras Mania 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Brandt Garon & Schuyler Cotten on winning the 2024 BREC Mardi Gras Tournament at Webb Golf Course.   This tournament is a two day 36-hole competition with the 2-player teams playing a Scramble format for 18-holes on Saturday and 9-holes of Better-Ball followed by 9-holes of Alternate Shot on Sunday.  Brandt and Schuyler won by shooting an 11-under par 61 on Sunday in the harder formats of the two days.  Their Sunday 61 was 5 strokes lower than the next best score on Sunday.  With this low Sunday score, they won the First Flight and passed all the teams in the Championship Flight to win the entire tournament.  Brandt and Schuyler had a two-day total of sixteen under par 67-61-128.
