Plainsman Four-Ball August 2025 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Stephen Cavell & Grant Welch on winning the 2025 Plainsman Four-Ball Tournament at Beaver Creek.

They followed yesterday’s 10-under par 62 with an 8-under par 64 for a two day 36-hole total of 18-under par 126. They finished two strokes ahead of Stephen & Will Maciasz who shot the tournament low round of 11-under par 61 in Sunday’s final round to finish at 16-under par 128.

Robbie White & Landon Covington finished in third place at 130. The teams of Wes & Austin Watts and Craig Rose & Connor Lynch tied for fourth place at 131.In the First Flight Ken Collins & Grant Landry followed their Saturday 69 with an 8-under par 64 to win the First Flight with a 133 total.

Catherine Gayle & Tommy Hodson came in second at 135. The teams of Jeff Russell & Randy Goff and Clayton Brown & Seth Holley tied for third place at 136.In the Second Flight Dane Lambert & Wayne Silva shot a 4-under par 68 on Sunday to win the flight with a 139 total. Dustin Lambert & Rhett Biez finished second at 140. Cody & Brody Trabeau finished third at 143. Thanks to everyone who played!

First Round Results:
Stephen Cavell & Grant Welch hold the lead after posting a scorching 10-under par 62 in the first round of the 2025 Plainsman Four-Ball tournament today at Beaver Creek GC. The Plainsman is a two-day 36-hole Better-Ball tournament.
Also, in the last group on Sunday will be Robbie White & Landon Covington who are two shots back after shooting 8-under par 64 in the first round. Also in contention after a first round 65 are the team of Craig Rose & Connor Lynch. The teams of Dennis Brown & Chad Braud and John Henchy & Jeremy Gautreaux are at 6-under par 66.
The First Flight will be a shootout on Sunday with 13 teams all within three shots of each other. Five teams are tied at 4-under par 68, four more are at 3-under par 69, and four more are at 2-under par 70.

Baton Rouge Amateur August 2025 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Greg Berthelot on winning the 2025 Baton Rouge Amateur on Sunday at Beaver Creek.

This match play tournament is comprised of players who qualified through last year’s Baton Rouge Amateur or through high finishes at the Baton Rouge Open and BREC Course Championship tournaments. The round of 16 and the quarterfinals were played on Saturday. The semi-finals and the final match were conducted on Sunday. In the Sunday morning semi-finals Jeremy Gautreaux defeated Ray Poche 2&1 (two holes up with one hole to play) and Greg Berthelot moved on defeating Nicholas Cristea 1 Up. In the Sunday afternoon final match Greg Berthelot won 5&3 (5 holes up with 3 to play) against Jeremy Gautreaux. Thanks to everyone who played. The next BREC tournament is the Plainsman Tournament August 30th and 31st. The Plainsman Tournament is the last tournament of the 2025 BREC Player of the Year season.

Baton Rouge Senior Open June 2025 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Ryan Fabre on winning the 2025 Baton Rouge Senior Open today at Beaver Creek Golf Course.

After 36 holes Ryan (71-73-144) was tied with Dennis Brown (72-72-144) at even par 144. Ryan and Dennis played three sudden death playoff holes, matching scores on hole 18 and hole 10, before Ryan took the Championship with a birdie on hole 18.

Jamie Lavigne took third place at three over par 147, one stroke ahead of Chad Braud and Bret Hughes who tied for fourth place at 148.In the Super Senior Division (age 65+) Tim Melancon shot a second straight two under par 70 to finish at four under par 140 and secure the one stroke victory. First round leader Randy Goff finished in second place one stroke back at three under par 141. Lindsay Spiller and Roger Gillespie tied for third place at one under par 143.Thanks to everyone for playing fast so we could finish the weather turned bad.

First Round Results:

The first round of the 2025 Baton Rouge Senior Open was completed today at Beaver Creek GC in Zachary. Bret Hughes holds the lead in the Senior Division (50+) with a two under par 70. He’s closely followed by Ryan Fabre at one under par 71, Chad Braud and Dennis Brown are at even par 72. Jamie Lavigne and Danny Simoneaux are contending at 73 and 74.The leaders are tightly bunched together in the very competitive Super Senior Division (65+). Randy Goff has the lead after posting four under par 68. Wayne Knight and Roger Gillespie are one shot back at three under par 69. Tim Melancon is also under par, two shots back at 70. Scott Haynie at even par 72 and Lindsay Spiller at one over 73 will also be in contention tomorrow.


Beaver Creek 4-Ball Challenge April 2025 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Randy Goff & Jeff Russell on winning the 4-Ball Challenge tournament today at Beaver Creek Golf Course.

They shot 8-under par 64 with 34 on the front nine and 30 on the back nine. Randy & Jeff finished tied at 8-under par with the groups of John Henchy & Phil Frazier and Clayton Brown & Mason Comeaux. The first tiebreaker, back nine score, gave the victory to Randy & Jeff.Dennis Brown & Ryan Fabre finished 4th at 7-under par 65. Connor Lynch & Tre Simmons finished fifth a4 6-under 66.Frank Schroeder & Jeremy Beasley lost all the tiebreakers among the teams finishing at 4-under par 68 and managed to win the First Flight. Tiebreakers were used to split second through fifth place in the First Flight among the four teams that shot 69. Andre & Jack Prejean won the Second Flight at 2-over par 74. Thanks to everyone who played and to the Beaver Creek maintenance staff who had the course in great condition despite all the rain this week.

Baton Rouge Open 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Carter Schmitt on winning the 2024 Baton Rouge Open today at Beaver Creek golf course. He followed Saturday’s 5-under par 67 with a 6-under par 66 to win at 11-under par 133. Carter rode a back nine hot streak making birdie on six of the last seven holes to complete a two-shot victory. After making bogey on the 11th hole, Carter birdied holes 12 and 13, parred hole 14, and finished making birdie on holes 15, 16, 17, and 18.Grant Welch came in second posting 68-67-135 finishing at 9-under par. Jeremy Gautreaux shot 70-67 to finish third at 7-under par 137. Greg Berthelot and Kyle Bennett matched Carter Schmitt’s 6-under par on Sunday. Greg Berthelot finished 4th at 6-under par 138, Kyle finished 8th at 2-under par 142.The top twelve players will be contacted about playing in the 2024 Baton Rouge Amateur match play tournament.

Plainsman Four-Ball 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Jeremy Gautreaux and Cody Maxwell on winning the 2024 Plainsman Tournament at Beaver Creek golf course.Jeremy and Cody managed to shoot 64–65–129 to finish 15 strokes under par in this 36-hole two player better-ball event.   2023 champions Wendell Akins & BJ Taillon held the first-round lead and finished second at 62-68-130.  Jason Humphries & Dustin Lambert cam in third with 67-64-131.  John Henchy & Randy Goff got 4th place at 67-67-134.Josh Tucker & Drew Prieto won the tiebreaker with the lower final round to win the First Flight with 70-65-135 over the team of Mark Bienvenue & Jesse Landry’s 69-66-135.  David Duhon & Cade Hebert won the Second Flight with 73-66-139, Andre & Jack Prejean came in second with 73-70-143.

4-Ball Challenge 2024 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to John Henchy & Chad Braud on winning the BREC 4-Ball Challenge tournament today at Beaver Creek GC in Zachary.  John and Chad won in a scorecard playoff over Brandt Garon & Schuyler Cotten after both teams posted a 6 under par 66 scores.  Both teams had 32 strokes on the front nine and 34 on the back nine.  John and Chad won the tiebreaker with the lower score on the last six holes.The tournament was very competitive with fourteen teams scoring between 66 and 69.  Many tiebreakers came into play in the Championship and First flights.  Gayle Sanchez & Jim Adams came in third place, one shot back at 67 along with the team of Jon Gussfeld & Clay Pinson who finished fourth.  The four-way tie at 4-under par 68 included the teams of Clayton Brown & Seth Holley, Kyle & Blake Gautreaux, Robbie White & Craig Rose, and Wes Watts & Rick Hagan.Josh Tucker & Drew Prieto won the First Flight and Andrew Schneider & Adam Fontenot won the Second Flight.

Baton Rouge Amateur 2023 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Greg Berthelot on winning the 2023 Baton Rouge Amateur Championship at Beaver Creek golf course. In the morning semi-final matches Greg Berthelot won his match against Nicholas Cristea three holes up with two holes to play. In the other semi-final Jeremy Gautreaux took 17 holes to move past Jason Humphries two holes up with one hole to play. This set up the final match of Berthelot versus Gautreaux. Greg Berthelot continued his strong play in the final match winning six holes up with five hole to play.

Congratulations to Wendell Akins on winning the 2023 Baton Rouge Senior Open today at Beaver Creek golf course. Wendell shot 3-under par on the back nine to post a Sunday 1-under par 71 and a 5-under par 36-hole total of 139. That was good for a two-shot victory.David Knight shot a 2-under par 70 on Sunday to finish tied with Bob McCusker in second place at 1-under par 141. Wes Watts, Danny Simoneaux, and Tate Zyroll tied for 4th place at 1-under par 143. Danny Nelson finished in 7th place, the only player finishing at even par 144.

Four-Ball Challenge 2023 – Tournament Results

Congratulations to Craig Rose and Phil Frazier on winning the 2023 Four-Ball Challenge today at BREC’s Beaver Creek Golf Course. Craig and Phil shot 3-under par on the front nine and 2-under par on the back nine to win by one shot at 5-under par 67. Players had to contend with weather that started off nice, got windy, then the rain came, and it was nice again by the time the last groups finished. One shot back at 4-under par 68 were the teams of Wes Watts & Jamie Lavigne and Gayle Sanchez & John Henchy. They were one shot ahead of a big group of teams that included Pat & Logan Leary, Blake Watts & Chuck Laudermill, Brady & Kyle Bennett, Robbie White & Paul Castro, and Donte Calderra & Kyle Wells.Tim & Austin Edens won the First Flight with an even par round of 72. There finished one stroke ahead of Mike Thomas & Chris Leonard, Keith Collins & Andy Barker, and Andre Prejean & Justin Leblanc. Addison Gee and Jacob Agazzi won the Second Flight winning a tie-breaker with Ken Joslyn & Steve Foster. They were one stroke ahead of the teams of Guy Hymel & Marr Coulas and Kerry D’Antonio & Chris Dake.
