Congratulations to Phil Frazier and Jeremy Gautreaux on winning the 27-hole Harry Neese Tournament at City Park on Saturday. Players braved the first cool Saturday morning of the Fall playing three different formats in this tournament that features 9 holes of Scramble, 9 holes of Better-Ball, and 9 holes of Alternate Shot. The 27 holes played to a par of 96. Jeremy and Phil won by posting a score of 10 under par 86. Robbie White and Landon Covington came in 2nd, three shots back at 89. Scott Wilfong and Brek Balentine finished third with a six under par 90.

Baton Rouge Amateur 2022 – Tournament Results
Congratulations to Greg Berthelot on winning the 2022 Baton Rouge Amateur at Santa Maria golf course. Greg defended the title he won in 2021, and in 2020. He becomes the first Baton Rouge Amateur Champion to win three consecutive titles.
In the morning semi-final matches Brayden Seguin was three strokes under par through 16 holes when he lost to Greg Berthelot three holes down with two holes to play. Jason Humphries continued his strong play defeating Robbie White four holes up with three to play.

Congratulations to Greg Berthelot on winning the 2022 Baton Rouge Open at Beaver Creek on Sunday. Greg backed up his first round 67 with a final round 4-under par 68 for a total of 9-under par 135. Greg had, or tied, the low round of the day in both rounds. Brayden Seguin shot a consistent 69-69-138 to finish in solo second three shots behind Berthelot. Michael Arnaud also shot a 68 on Sunday to finish in third with a 5-under par 139 total. Wendall Aikens, Kyle Bennett, Scoff Wilfong, Phil Frazier, Carter Schmidt, and Robbie White all posted 36 hole under par scores to finish in the top 10. Congratulations to Chuck Laudermill on winning the 2022 Baton Rouge Senior Open today at Santa Maria. Chuck followed his Saturday 68 with a Sunday 71 for a 5-under par total of 139 and a three-shot victory. Jeff Calloway came in 2nd at 2-under par 142. Paul Castro had Sunday’s low round of 68 to capture 3rd place at 1-under par 143. Lindsey Spiller followed his Saturday 71 with a Sunday 5-under par 67 to win the 2022 Baton Rouge Senior Open Super Senior division by 3 strokes over Jim Adams. Adams also shot under par both days on his way to a second place 3-under par 141 total.

Congratulations to Danny Nelson and Scott Wilfong on their victory in the Four-Ball Challenge today at Beaver Creek golf course in Zachary. Danny and Scott didn’t let the wind bother them on their way to the low front nine score with a 4-under 32 and then backed it up with a 2-under par 34 on the back nine for a 6 under par total of 66. They finished one shot ahead of Kyle Wells and Dante Calderra who shot 33-34-67. Drew Silman and Nyles Williams came in 3rd at 4 under par 68. The tie-breakers worked out just right for Brandt and Chad Garon who won the 1st Flight and for Drew Cavell and Taylor Calandro who won the 2nd flight. The next BREC tournament is the two-day, 36-hole, Plainsman Better-Ball at Beaver Creek on May 14th & 15th.

Congratulations to Eric Hoffmann on winning the 2022 Webb Memorial Course Championship today. The Saturday standings showed Eric in last place in the Championship Flight, but a Sunday 6-under par 66 took him from ‘worst to first’ and brought home the 2022 course championship. Landon Covington posted a front nine 32 on his way to a 2-under par 70 to finish in a tie for 2nd place with first round leader Sophia Macias. Ed Mitchell shot a 2-under par 70 on Sunday to win the First Flight. He was one of four players under par on Sunday. Michael Thomas took the 2nd flight with a final round 75. Three players improved their Saturday score by 10 or more strokes to move up a flight. Chad Garon took the 3rd Flight with a Sunday 81.

Congratulations to Jim Adams and Gayle Sanchez on winning the 36-hole 2022 Mardi Gras Tournament at Webb golf course. After shooting 61 in the Saturday scramble, Jim and Gayle shot 9-under par 63 in the 9-holes of better-ball and 9-holes of alternate shot format Sunday format. They finished at 124, 20 strokes under par for the 2-day event. Gayle Sanchez adds this win to the many south Louisiana tournaments he’s won. Tony Alphonso and Jay Sanders shot 64 on Sunday to win a tie-breaker for second place with Eric Hoffmann and Dante Caldera at 18-under par 126.Jeremy Gautreaux and Phil Frazier posted a Sunday 9-under par 61 and shot the low round of the day to take the First Flight by a comfortable 4 stroke margin. Jeremy and Phil had the 2nd lowest 36 hole total for the tournament. Jack Terry and Charlie Marquette followed their Saturday 68 with a Sunday 68 to win the 2nd flight.
