Holiday 3-Person Scramble 2020 – Tournament Results
On what started as a cool morning at Dumas Golf Course, Eric Hoffmann, Jeremy Gautreaux, and Brandt Garon got red hot on the back nine shooting a 10-under par 25 (with 2 eagles) on their way to victory at 17-under par 54. The second place team of Terry Ledet, Chad Blanchard, and David Knight fired a 9-under par 26 on the back nine on their way to a 14-under par 57. Robbie White, Grant Welch and Tre’ Simmons shot 61 to come in 3rd at 10-under par. Jason Miller, Jason Anderson, and Danny Nelson won a tie-breaker at 9-under par to finish in 4th place. Congratulations to everyone who got through the cool start for a fun day at Dumas GC.

Robbie White and Landon Covington shot 10 under par for 27-holes to win the Harry Neese Memorial tournament today at City Park. In this unique tournament the players play 9-holes of scramble, 9-holes of better-ball, and 9-holes of alternate shot. The formats get more difficult as you go. Jason Helmke and son were also very steady shooting 29-29-30 to finish in second at 8-under par 88. Jason Miller & Matthew Schroeder tied for 3rd with Scott Haynie and Frank Schroeder at 5-under par 91. Congratulations to everyone who played in this challenging yet fun event at City Park.

Junior Championship 2020 – Tournament Results
Gage Landry set out to defend his title as the Baton Rouge Champion. Defend he did, and in a rather convincing manner. Blistering a demanding front nine with a two under 34, he finished with a one over 73 to eclipse the field by a margin of 7 strokes. The St. Amant golfer who staged a come from behind victory on the back nine in 2019, acknowledged that this year he set out with a plan to take more of a commanding role in the early goings, a plan that worked very well.

Julie Harrison was basically fairways and greens on the front nine, shooting a one over 37; meanwhile Sophia Macias started off with a pair of double bogeys. Settling her nerves, Macias finished just three strokes behind with a birdie on the difficult 9th hole. Undaunted by Macias’s birdie, Harrison knocked in a 6 foot downhill breaking putt on the same 9th green.

2-player Better-Ball
Greg Berthelot & Taylor Calandro shot a 6-under par 66 round at Beaver Creek today to win the 2020 Plainsman Better-Ball tournament with a two day 10-under par 134 total. They needed every shot as they won a tie-breaker with Brandt Garon & Garret Westbrook who also came in at 68-66-134. Berthelot and Calandro won the second tie-breaker with a 3-under 33 on the back 9 on Sunday. The low round of the day went to Landon Covington and Robbie White who shot a 7-under par 65 to finish one shot back in third place, winning a tie-breaker at 135 with Tommy & Mickey Garrity.
Phil Frazier and Jeremy Gautreaux won the First Flight after posting 71-65-136. The Second Flight went to Tommy Hodson & Davis Dicharry with 73-67-140. Brek Balantine and Matthew Jakuback won the Third Flight with 78-72-150.

It took a 2-under par 70 for a 3-under 141 total, and two playoff holes for Jeff Calloway to win the 2020 Senior Baton Rouge Open. Calloway and Johnny Hernandez tied at 3-under par. They both made par on the first playoff hole and Jeff won with a birdie 4 at the par 5 second hole. Scott Haynie finished one shot back at 2-under par 142. Lindsay Spiller, Jamie Lavigne, Randy Goff, and Paul Castro all tied for 4th at even par 144. Congratulations to Jeff Calloway, the 2020 Senior Baton Rouge Open champion.

Brady Bennett came out hot firing a 5 under par 31 on the front nine at Beaver Creek to cruise to a 2 shot victory in the 2020 Baton Rouge Open. Brady finished at 6 under par 138, two strokes ahead of Cody Weber who shot 4-under 140. Greg Berthelot and Brayden Seguin tied for 3rd at 2 under par 142. Baton Rouge Amateur Championship 2020 – Tournament Results
Two-seed Greg Berthelot played three-seed Jeremy Gautreaux today in the final match of the 2020 Baton Rouge Amateur. This match was a heavy weight slugfest with birdies flying as they made their way around Santa Maria golf course. By the time they reached the 18th tee Berthelot had made seven birdies, Gautreaux had made four birdies, and Berthelot had a 1-up lead in the match. Berthelot just needed to tie the hole to win, while Gautreaux needed to win hole 18 to extend the match. True to form for the day, they both made birdie on 18 and Greg Berthelot became the 2020 Baton Rouge amateur Champion.
