Congratulations to Greg Berthelot on defending his 2020 title in the 2021 Baton Rouge Amateur at Beaver Creek. Greg won his semi-final match over Phil Frazier 2&1 (2 holes up with 1 to play). In the other semi-final Jeremy Gautreaux got past Matthew Jakuback 3&2, setting up a repeat of last year’s final match when Greg beat Jeremy on the 18th hole. This year Greg managed to close it out on the 17th hole with a 2&1 victory. Defending a win in match play is always a challenge, congratulations to Greg Berthelot on his 2021 Baton Rouge Amateur championship.

Baton Rouge Open 2021 – Tournament Results
Congratulations to Kevin Landry on winning the Baton Rouge Open at Santa Maria today. Kevin followed up his opening 71 with a 2-under par 70 for a 1 stroke victory at 3-under par 141. He was one of only two players to finish under par. Matthew Jakuback shot 70-72-142 to finish one shot back in 2nd place. Mark Bienvenu came in 3rd at 146, Eric Hoffmann secured 4th at 147. Gregory Berthelot rounded out the top 5 at 148.

Scott Haynie fired a 3-under par 69 on Sunday at Beaver Creek to win the 2021 Senior Baton Rouge Open. He adds this title to his previous BR Open win and multiple Baton Rouge Amateur wins. David Knight improved on his Saturday score by 8 strokes, posting a 4-under 68 on Sunday, to tie Dennis Brown for second place at even par 144. Congratulations to Scott, David, Dennis, and all the top finishers.

Plainsman 4-Ball 2021 – Tournament Results
Congratulations to Dante Calderra and Eric Hoffmann on posting an impressive 10-under par 62 to cruise to a 3 shot win in the 2021 Plainsman tournament at Beaver Creek. They went 4-under par 32 on the front nine, and 6-under par 30 on the back nine. Mike Stackus and David Griffen shot 66 to finish in second with a 130 total. Jeremy Gautreaux & Phil Frazier finished in third at 132. Clayton Brown & Seth Holley shot 65 on Sunday to finish in fourth at 133. David & Kyle Bennett shot 66 to win the First Flight in a tie-breaker over Dustin Lambert & Michael McDonald. Jason Miller & Mike Gonzalez shot 71 to win the Second Flight. Brek Balentine & Nic Manely improved by 9 shots with a Sunday 70 to win the Third Flight.

City Park Championship 2021 – Tournament Results
Players battled tough conditions today including rain, wind, and soft ground as the City Park Course Championship concluded. A two over par round today for a 2-under par total of 126 was enough for Phil Schmitt to win the 36-hole championship. Eric Hoffmann shot one over par 65 for a 127 total and 2nd place. Brek Balentine finished 3rd at even par 128. Scott Haynie captured 4th place and Carter Schmitt moved up into 5th place with a 64, the low round of the day.
Garrett Theriot won the First Flight by one shot over David Knight with a 138 total. Jason Miller won the Second Flight with a 143 total. Hopefully we will see everyone at the Webb Championship on April 17th & 18th.

It took 22 Sunday holes (Sunday 18 + 4 playoff holes) for Jeremy Gautreaux to capture the 2021 Dumas Memorial Course Championship. Landon Covington shot a 2-under 69 to tie Goatreaux at 4-under 138. Landon sunk a long putt on the first playoff hole to keep what would be a 4-hole playoff going. They tied the next two holes before Covington’s birdie putt did a 270 degree lip out and Gautreaux made his 2 foot birdie putt to capture the Dumas Championship. Robbie White shot 1-under par 70 to tie Eric Hoffman in 3rd place. Grant Welch finished alone in 5th. Randall Little shot 77 on Sunday for a 156 total to win the first flight. Elliott Aucoin shot 83 for a 174 total to win the 2nd flight. Congratulations to Jeremy ‘Goat’ Gautreaux for winning the Dumas Championship and getting a good start on defending his BREC Player of the Year title.
